Wanna know how? Their Family Prayer List (And God, of course)
Discipline is almost a forbidden word in our culture. I like grace. I like mercy. Discipline conjures up feelings of legalism which if you’re like me, you want to run from like a leprous colony.
But, disciplines can also be beautiful.
For instance, I have a friend who dates his wife nearly every Wednesday. He’s not forced to do this, but loves to spend hours of unbroken conversation and togetherness with his best friend. Another couple of friends are work out nuts… kind of… they just have a routines or disciplines of daily exercise. And they like it.
Developing a family prayer list and regularly praying from it has become the same.
And like Jonathan, it’s become a delight and even more, a tool to see the faithfulness and interaction of God in their lives.
Jonathan’s a pretty intentional dude. He’s super engaged in his church and community. And, he’s a stud of a dad. But, he began using a prayer list we shared with him a few months back. And here’s the kicker…
The joke is that if prayer doesn’t work, we’re toast. Really, we’re building our entire ministry around the idea that God loves to fellowship with us AND answer our prayers.
Jonathan’s son in middle school began praying that his buddy would come to love Jesus and a couple of months after their family began praying, his friend came to Christ!
We’ve developed a prayer list that we want to share with you. We keep it on our fridge and use it during our family prayer time. We’ll give each person one prayer point and let them pray. Seeing God answer prayers is stamping our family’s hearts with His faithfulness.
Grab your free prayer list by signing up for our newsletter at the bottom of this page.
You can highlight the answered prayers, create new lists and have a log of the ways God has met your family.
Happy family praying!
P.S. We want to hear from you. One of the ways family prayer is fueled is through others’ testimonies. Would you leave a comment below to share how God has answered your prayers? It will inspire others, I promise!
